Naggo Head Primary by 91/2 points
Two-time defending champions, Naggo Head Primary, hold a 9 1/2 point lead going into today’s final day of the four-day INSPORTS/Swizzle Primary School Athletics Championship at the National Stadium.
After four other finals on yesterday’s third day, Naggo Head Primary have surged to 27 points, ahead of second place Angel on 17-and-a-half points, followed by Excelsior on 17, Lawrence Tavern on 15 and New Providence complete the top five with 14 points.
Three records were shattered yesterday. Jhennel Harriott of St Francis was responsible for the Girls’ long jump record with a leap of 4 point 9-8 metres to erase the previous mark of 4 point 9-7.
Tre-Vonne Smith of New Providence accounted for the Boys’ high jump record with by clearing 1 point 5-7 metres to beat the previous mark of 1 point 5-5.
And Andrew Ashby of Naggo Head broke the Boys’ Class Two 300-metre record in the heats by clocking 42 point 4-3 seconds.
Thirty-four finals will be contested on today’s final day.
