Bermuda's Serious Crime Unit has launched an investigation into the death of Ida James, the sister of former finance minister, Dr. Clarence James.
James was found dead at her home.
Police believe that James, who was 65, may have been killed by an intruder who broke into her home in the parish of Paget.
James, a retired social worker who lived on her own, was found dead by a member of the public yesterday morning.
Her murder comes after a spate of burglaries at homes in the area in the last couple of weeks.
