Wolmer's and Ascot to battle for Manning Cup survival

The fight for valuable points in the ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel Manning Cup resumes this afternoon with eight games across three groups.



The most attention is expected to be on Wolmer’s Boys and Ascot High, who are in a keen battle for the runners-up spot in Group C.



With two set of games remaining in the preliminary round, Charlie Smith have already won the group to book their spot in the second round.



Wolmer’s Boys, who are second in the group two ahead of Ascot, travel to Vauxhall and cannot afford to drop any points.



Ascot will play away to Haile Selassie at Tinson Pen, while Dunoon and Charlie Smith will face off at Breezy Castle.



Over in Group E, leaders St George’s College, Innswood, Spanish Town and Meadowbrook will continue their fight for the two spots in the second round.



St Georges will host Tarrant at Emmett Park, Innswood will entertain bottom-place Edith Dalton James at Chedwin Park, while Spanish Town and Meadowbrook face-off at Prison Oval.



The remaining games are from Group A. Those match-ups are Excelsior hosting Calabar at Courtney Walsh Oval and Holy Trinity travelling to St Catherine.



Meanwhile, in the rural area daCosta Cup, Denbigh and Glenmuir will square off in a rescheduled game at Wembley Football Field.



All matches are scheduled to start at 3:30 in the afternoon.
