Dominica: Police seize illegal drugs

The police in Dominica say they have seized more than 1,200 pounds of marijuana which they believe was being held in transit for export to another island.



They say the drugs were found in an abandoned area and had a street value of more than US$370,000.



However, they say no one had been arrested after the 1,245 pounds of weed was discovered in 27 nylon bags.



Police Inspector John Carbon said based on the packaging, he believes the drugs was imported into the country for shipment elsewhere.
