A 40-year-old policewoman will return to court on May 2 to answer 100 charges of allegedly defrauding the Police Service of nearly TT$400,000.

Woman police officer, Elizabeth Hope was released on TT$350,000 bail when she appeared before a Port of Spain court on Monday.

She was not called upon to plead to the charges.

The police allege that between 2010 and last March, the policewoman, with the assistance of another woman tendered false bills and receipts of medical services done with an official stamp from a doctor.

It is further alleged that the policewoman also billed the Police Service for medication she allegedly received while she was supposedly undergoing treatment for cancer.
