FIFTY YEARS ago the world watched as Martin Luther King led a peaceful march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, Selma, Alabama, seeking voting rights.

Fast forward 50 years later, approximately 100,000 marchers and government officials gathered to commemorate and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the event which was called 'Bloody Sunday', as on March 7, 1965, armed policemen attacked peaceful civil rights demonstrators who were attempting to march to the Alabama state capital of Montgomery.

King must have been smiling down as a new set of foot soldiers again peacefully gathered and marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

Ridley Ingram, a former student of Lannaman's Preparatory and Jamaica College was in Selma, Alabama, to capture the Saturday March 7, 2015 event.
