Feb 3: JMD holds steady at $121.37

The Jamaica dollar traded unchanged at an average rate of $121.37 against the US dollar on Tuesday.
But in a day of mixed fortunes for the local currency, the JMD lost value against the pound sterling, closing down 69 cents at $173.21, while regaining ground against the Canadian dollar to close up by $1.58 at $85.69.
In the US dollar market, demand almost doubled inflows at US$43.6 million, while traders bought up just US$27.8 million.
The Jamaican dollar has fallen 96 cents or 0.8 per cent year to date against its main trading partner, the US dollar.
