Tech nine submachine gun among six firearms seized between Wednesday and Thursday
The Kingston Western Police say six firearms and 45 rounds of ammunition were seized over a two-day period in the division.
The illegal weapons and ammo were seized between Wednesday and Thursday.
The firearms are:
* Tech nine submachine gun seized on Nelson Street
* One Ruger 9mm pistol seized in Hannah Town
* Two Taurus 9mm pistols with 33 rounds of ammunition seized at the Princess Street and Tulip Lane respectively.
* One Beretta .380 pistol with seven rounds of ammunition seized at Lincoln Avenue.
* One Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol with five 9mm rounds of ammunition seized at the intersection of Lyndhurst Road and New Lincoln Avenue.
These weapons were seized through a range of increased operational activities across the division following a series of snap raids, spot checks, cordon and searches and vehicle check point.
Meanwhile, the Police High Command has commended the efforts of the Police officers in the division.
