Businessman Corey Todd arrested, charged with assault

Popular businessman and entertainment promoter Corey Todd has been arrested and charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
Todd was arrested in connection with an incident in which recording artiste Devin Di Dakta was assaulted at one of the businessman's night clubs.
Todd was reportedly pointed out during an identification parade.
According to the police, the businessman was given station bail following a request by his attorney Peter Champagnie.
Champagnie declined to comment when contacted by The Gleaner.

It is reported that in January this year, Devin Di Dakta, winner of the 2015 staging of 'Magnum Kings and Queen of Dancehall', was forcibly removed from the Taboo nightclub by security personnel.
It's alleged that he was taken to the parking lot and beaten by several persons because of a song perceived to be disrespecting Todd.
However, a source close to the management of the club alleged at the time that the entertainer was harassing a dancer and was removed after a complaint was made.
Todd is to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday.
