China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) recently indicated it would be willing to consider compensation to the residents of Old Fort Bay in
St Ann who have been impacted by the construction of the Moneague to Mammee Bay leg of the North-South Highway.
The residents have complained that CHEC caused silt, solid waste and debris to flow into the bay, smothering and stressing the coral reefs and other marine life.
The following images show the chocolate brown water near the beach, reflecting the silt, solid waste and debris which have flowed into the bay.
