Even with the set-up of the Xodus Carnival in the parking lot of Campion College, gospel music could be heard loudly.

Turns out King’s Sanctuary was having regular service in the school cafeteria and nothing was going to stop them.

Soon, the chatter of Xodus revellers would seek to drown the sounds of the gospel music.

But that did not faze one King’s Sanctuary member, who asked to remain anonymous.

"No matter the revelry, God has to be praised always. When you get up in the morning and go out on the road, that comes first.” the churchgoer said.

Jheanell Stephenson visiting from Atlanta did not see a conflict.

"I clearly remember Jesus telling us to come as you are.” The white-winged reveller said, noting that she had a religious upbringing and still attends church.

"Not because you jump means you don't love the Lord; you just choose to celebrate life this way,” she said.

Meanwhile, the march has started with 'Hello' by Kes blaring from the speakers.

Organisers, however, turned on the music some distance away from Campion College where the church was in session.
