Attacks on Robert Morgan cruel, unfair

Published:Thursday | June 7, 2018 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I find it a bit laughable, if somewhat pathetic, that on two occasions in the space of a week, a letter decrying Robert Nesta Morgan and his political doings ('wrongdoings' in the eyes of the letter writers) have been elevated to Letter of the Day status. The first was from Michelle Bradshaw (5/30/2018) and the second from Kevin Blaine (6/6/2018).

The first, purported to be an open letter to Peter Phillips and the PNP (which, for reasons best known to the writer and The Gleaner, could not be delivered to the PNP's HQ), called for Mr Morgan to be placed under scrutiny; the second urged the PM to rein him in.

Based on the second letter about Mr Morgan, I am beginning to think that either he is doing his job well, or he has pissed off someone at The Gleaner, leading to its editorial pages being used as a means to attack him.
