Construction supervisor arrested in NESol corruption probe
The police have arrested and charged a construction supervisor as part of investigations into irregularities at the National Energy Solutions Limited (NESol).
Twenty-eight-year-old Rayon Hamilton of a Kingston 8 address has been charged with causing money to be paid by means of false pretence, conspiracy to defraud and facilitating the retention of criminal property.
The police say on Wednesday, investigators carried out an operation at Hamilton’s home and office.
Documents, electronic devices and cash amounting to over $200,000 were reportedly seized and Hamilton taken into custody.
He was questioned in the presence of his attorney Thursday, and later charged.
Hamilton has been offered bail in the sum of $350,000 and is scheduled to appear in the St Catherine Parish Court on Monday, December 10.
His arrested comes five months after NESol engineer Lawrence Pommels was arrested and charged with money laundering and breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.
