Abortion is a must … When it’s necessary
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Abortion is a must when it’s necessary. No matter what we do or may say, when the right time comes for an abortion to take place, we just have to do what is best.
The late great (and one of the most righteous men who ever lived on planet Earth) Dr Billy Graham was asked to give his view on abortion. And he said that if a woman is raped (I paraphrased a little) or if her life would be in danger in giving birth to a child, abortion should be carried out.
We need to come to a national agreement and also a spiritual agreement on these two ‘If causes’:
1. If a woman’s life is in danger or would be in danger when birth time is nearing, then we will give the go-ahead for an abortion.
2. If a woman is raped by Mr So and So and she gets pregnant, we will allow her to abort the foetus, especially if it’s her wish.
God does not condemn anyone. The vilest sinner can sincerely ask for forgiveness, and he or she will be forgiven. And so it is with a woman who is pregnant for her father or whoever; and also, if her life is in danger in giving birth to a child – and she chooses to abort the child – God will forgive her if she asks Him to.
