Relevance of the Church in COVID-19 era
THE EDITOR, Madam:
Many persons have been impacted by the onslaught of COVID 19 and persons directly or indirectly affected it should look at turning to the churches to help them tide over this pandemic.
The opportunities range from counselling to inspiring sermons, from insightful Bible studies to prayer networks, from online seminars to radio programmes, and the list goes on. Church doors are still open, ready to receive persons in need of mental and spiritual upliftment.
Church is still recognised as a powerful institution in ensuring the well-being of members of the society and is the bedrock of the society and is as relevant today as it was over 2,000 years ago. It remains the answer in changing times and is timeless.
There is no pandemic, or no force that can overturn the purpose and significance of the Church. As stated in Matthew 16:18 (King James Version): “... upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”.
