A dance with death
I have seen death appear,
It came out of nowhere.
I saw it before me with its
Shadow shifting suddenly;
Gazing and waving,
While it grinned at me.
There were no welcome gifts,
Nor any shoes for it to fit,
So it made after my feet;
But being swift, I made it trip,
And as it lost its grip,
I gave it a powerful kick.
I have seen death appear,
It came out of nowhere.
I saw it before me with its
Shadow shifting suddenly;
Gazing and waving,
While it grinned at me.
There were no welcome gifts,
Nor any shoes for it to fit,
So it made after my feet;
But being swift, I made it trip,
And as it lost its grip,
I gave it a powerful kick.
As I ran towards the door,
It seemed captivated with the chase;
With its crave spiralling even more
It was a one-sided game of catch,
But luckily for me,
My arms could reach the latch;
I dodged this fate of fall,
And in my line of sight,
I could see the gloomy hall,
Even through the meagre light
I could see freedom,
Staring at me.
I thought to myself,
I’m finally free,
From a grip of regret,
It inspires me,
To hurry and slip away;
For it wasn’t my time yet;
Maybe for a chance with life,
But surely not a dance with death.
