Policeman shot and injured along Maxfield Avenue

A policeman was disarmed and shot by a lone gunman this afternoon along Maxfield Avenue in St Andrew.
The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m.
He has been rushed to hospital and is undergoing treatment.
The roadway is now cordoned off in the vicinity of Balmoral and Cargill avenues.
There is an active search underway for the shooter.
