Two students killed, five people injured in Portland crash

Two people are dead and at least five others have been rushed to hospital after a taxi transporting students slammed into a parked truck near Blueberry Hill in Buff Bay, Portland, on Tuesday.

A police source told The Gleaner that the incident took place shortly after 4:30 p.m., after the driver of the seven seater taxi reportedly lost control of the vehicle and slammed into the back of the truck.

It is understood that the two people died at the accident scene.

The injured persons were rushed to hospital in Annotto Bay.
