Policeman hit from motorcycle while chasing gunman

A St Catherine-based policeman remains hospitalised after he was hit from a motorcycle while pursuing a gunman who fled leaving a loaded revolver behind on Tuesday.
The police constable, who is attached to the Portmore Police Station, suffered injuries to his legs.
About 1:50 p.m., the policeman was reportedly on patrol near Waterford when a motorcyclist was signalled to stop. The motorcyclist reportedly disobeyed.
However, he reportedly dropped a bag in his possession and when it was retrieved the revolver was found.
The policeman went in pursuit of the man on his service motorcycle, but was hit from his motorcycle by a motorist.
He suffered damage to both legs and his groin.
He was taken to hospital where he was admitted for treatment.
