Education ministry condemns brutal murder of teenage girl
The Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information is condemning the brutal assault and murder of ninth-grade student of Haile Selassie High School, Price Johnson.
The ministry says it has activated its trauma response team which visited the school early this morning to offer grief counselling to the students and staff.
Minister of Education Dr Dana Dixon, says “my heart goes out to the family of young Price Johnson, it is disturbing and heart breaking to lose yet
another youth to senseless violence. She could’ve been a future leader or advocate.
She is also calling for all Jamaicans be more vigilant in protecting Jamaica's children.
Morris Dixon says the Ministry of Education is committed to supporting the school family and is urging members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the arrest of the perpetrator who is said to be of unsound mind.
