The matter remains under investigation.

Two men were arrested on Monday after being found dressed as police officers, having an imitation gun and having blue flashing lights on the vehicle they were travelling in.

The men were intercepted along Barbican Road in St Andrew.

According to police reports, about 4:15 p.m., traffic cops observed a Toyota Axio driving erratically and displaying a blue flashing light.

Suspicion was raised when a check of the vehicle's registration revealed that it was not registered with the constabulary force.

The driver was signalled to stop.

Upon stopping, a man exited the vehicle dressed in attire resembling a police uniform, including a Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) peak hat, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a less-lethal belt with a JCF RCB baton, according to the police.

He also carried a handcuff pouch and had a noticeable bulge at his waist.

When questioned, the individual claimed to be a police officer working in the Spanish Town area, however, he failed to provide any identification.

A subsequent search revealed an imitation pistol concealed in his waistband, the police reported.

Further investigation led to a search of the vehicle and the other occupant.

Both individuals were arrested on reasonable suspicion.

Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
