Another major ammunition seizure in Westmoreland

The police's Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division today seized over 600 rounds of ammunition during an operation in Culloden district, Whitehouse, Westmoreland.

The operation came on the heels of another substantial seizure of 3,900 rounds of ammunition, 19 exotic animals and uncustomed cigarettes along the shores of Whitehouse, Westmoreland on Monday.

Reports are that between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., a police and military team conducted an intelligence-led operation in search of wanted men.

During the operation, five hundred and one 9mm rounds, eighty-two 5.56 rounds and forty .38 rounds of ammunition were discovered hidden among the vegetation in a hilly terrain.

No arrest was made in connection with the seizure.
