A Kingly Character

A man of substance who always aimed high.

His reasoned ambitions were forever above the sky.

Rest assured he would surely achieve them - even if he had to fly.

Never daunted by obstacles in his way,

He found an alternate route that would not cause him delay.

Never afraid to push the proverbial envelope,

His hard work and persistence jettisoned him to the top.

One of a kind - if ever there was one,

Maximum respect to the quintessential bon vivànt.

Take your rest in a hallowed place where you belong.

Proud to be your friend, our “Pulse” will always remain strong.

You are ugly they say... with disdain

Because of my skin... because of my hair?!

I laugh... I laugh a contradicting laugh

I laugh with confidence and clarity

My laugh is one of conviction, to your ignorance and guilt

I laugh ... because I’m free from your lies

I laugh a laugh of jubilation

Because in me now, the truth resides.

From my Maker’s mouth to my core

This is what I now know and is sure

I am beautiful...

Regardless of what the eyes of the beholder may see

I am beautiful.

Because the hands of the Almighty God made me.

I laugh the laugh of victory!
