• First Rock Capital Holdings Limited is in the process of acquiring commercial property at Cross Roads, Kingston, measuring 13,303 square feet. “This will represent investment property for the company for lease income,” First Rock said in a market filing. The price was not disclosed.
• Jamaica recorded a trade gap of US$344 million in the month of January, a more-than-10 per cent improvement relative to January 2020. Exports grew 16.7 per cent to US$117.2 million, while imports contracted 12.1 per cent to US$461.7 million, Statin has reported. The trade gap with Caricom amounted to US$12.3 million for the month.
• From today, May 26, to Friday, the Companies Office of Jamaica will be doing mobile runs in St Mary, Portland and St Thomas, giving businesses and entrepreneurs in the eastern parishes an opportunity to update their records or file applications. The COJ Mobile Unit will facilitate business and company registrations, deregistration of closed businesses, and filings such as annual returns, during stops at Port Maria Civic Centre in Port Maria; Christ Church Hall in Port Antonio; and the Morant Bay Anglican Church Hall.
