• The two resort-based pharmacies operated by Fontana Limited are lagging the other four in the chain, due to the downturn in tourism. The Montego Bay and Ocho Rios pharmacies are expected to bounce back, however, once the tourism market recovers, says Kevin O’Brien Chang, chairman of Fontana Limited, during an appearance at the weekly Mayberry Virtual Investor Forum last Wednesday.

• Kingston Properties Limited has created a new subsidiary, called KP Dumfries Limited, to hold property newly acquired by the real estate company along Dumfries Road in New Kingston. Kingston Properties purchased 7 Dumfries Road in April for US$1.25 million, and leased back space there to the former owner, Audiophon Limited.

• The Coconut Industry Board purchased 670,066 coconuts from farmers in 2020 at a cost of over $38 million, for sale in its Coconut Shop located at Waterloo Road in Kingston. Minister of Agriculture Floyd Green, speaking at the Coconut Board’s annual meeting on May 27, said there should be more shops set up outside of Kingston.
