Lionel misses MJ's birthday 'Hello'

Lionel Richie still hasn't accepted Michael Jackson's death.

The Hello singer was close friends with the Thriller hitmaker and admits his pal's passing from acute Propofol intoxication almost six years ago still doesn't feel "real".

He said: "To this day, I can't get it into my head that he's dead. It still doesn't seem real. It's so huge to me that he's not here."

And Lionel feels a special sadness around his birthday every year because in 2009, he delayed festivities in order to celebrate with Michael, who was preparing for his 50-date This Is It London residency when he died but never got the chance.

He added: "It's my birthday on June 20 and I'll never forget that year. I decided to delay my party because Michael was rehearsing for his big tour. He only lived a block and a half away and I wanted our kids to get together, so I told him I would put it off until the weekend. But that was the week Michael died. Every year since, when my birthday is coming up, I still think of that day."

The 65-year-old star admits his friend never ever had a "normal" life because he found fame at such a young age. He told HELLO! magazine: "He never got to hang out as a normal kid, playing soccer, going to school, having a first kiss. He didn't have a 'real'. His 'real' was, 'Hey Lionel, I bought a monkey'."

Happiness for

Herbie girl

Lindsay Lohan is "happier than ever".

The Herbie and Mean Girls actress - who recently came off probation for the first time in eight years - is doing well in both her personal and professional life, her mother Dina has claimed.

Dina told RadarOnline.com: "She's happier than ever. She's getting movie offers right and left."

Lindsay - who has been to rehab six times - marked the end of her legal troubles late last month after completing 125 hours of community service as part of her punishment stemming from a reckless driving incident in 2012.

The 28-year-old helped out with the gardening at a women's shelter in New York to clock up some of her hours and also volunteered at the Duffield Children's Centre in Brooklyn.

After completing her punishment, Lindsay vowed to make a "fresh start" with her "clean slate".

She said: "I am very grateful to those at Brooklyn Community Services, Duffield, and The Ali Forney Centre for welcoming me into their services and allowing me to finish my court-ordered community service hours.

"Thank you to Shawn (Holley, lawyer) and everyone involved for having faith in me and supporting me in getting the job done. I look forward to working with The Ali Forney Centre and BCS in the future. Thank you for the inspiration. Clean slate. Fresh start. Bless."

Lohan was ordered to do more hours in February after a Los Angeles judge criticised certain tasks she had counted as part of her original punishment, including a meet-and-greet session with fans in London.

Rita Wilson over breast cancer

Rita Wilson has "won" her battle against breast cancer.

The 58-year-old actress - who is married to Tom Hanks - underwent a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction in April after being diagnosed with the disease but says she is now in recovery.

Speaking as she walked the red carpet at the 2015 Tony Awards at New York's Radio City Music Hall, she told E! News: "I feel great. When you do Broadway you have a family there and one at home as well. I had so much love through the process. I'm very thankful."

Rita - who resumed her role in stage production Fish in the Dark in May - was accompanied to the ceremony by her son Colin and was very excited to be at the show, which honoured the best in theatre.

She tweeted: ".@ColinHanks, my son, and I @TheTonyAwards. Just sat down! Great seats!(sic)"

The Girls star previously admitted she made the decision to go public with her illness to encourage other women to get checked for breast cancer because "early diagnosis" is key when it comes to beating the disease.

She said: "I feel blessed to have a loving, supportive husband, family, friends, and doctors and that I am the beneficiary of advances in the field of breast cancer and reconstruction. I am getting better every day and look forward to renewed health.

"I hope this will encourage others to get a second opinion and to trust their instincts if something doesn't 'feel' right."
