Forty-one year old Michelle Bourne said having experienced the Carnival vibe from a road march years ago, she knew this year she had to allow her children the same experience.

Bourne was seen chipping down Knutsford Boulevard with her three children and her grandson.

Pointing out that carnival caters to everyone irrespective of age, Bourne said she is raising cultured children and Carnival in Jamaica is a part of it.

"My big daughter is 23 years old, my other daughter is 13, my son is seven and my grandson is six and they were all really excited about coming out today," she said.  "When we were getting ready this morning, dem couldn't wait."

She said Carnival is a safe and fun space but still, she was taking all precaution.
