After an almost three-year hiatus the Wolmer’s Dance troupe is putting the final touches on their season of dance. This year’s programme will showcase a broad sweep of contemporary dance styles and has been extended to include sister group the Dance Theatre Xaymaca who will join the company to perform.

Titled Synergy, the recital is a celebration of the rebirth of dance and the bringing together of sister companies under one umbrella on stage.

“This is definitely a celebration of freedom now the pandemic is over. It’s been two and a half years not dancing so we are grateful that we can resume,” said Barbara McDaniel, artistic director for both companies.

It’s been 31 years of beating the boards and bringing entertainment to dance enthusiasts. This year will be no different as sister companies, Wolmer’s Dance Troupe and Dance Theatre Xaymaca, will together bring the experiences and synergies of varying genre using modern, contemporary, dancehall and folk-dance styles.

Performances take place from Friday, October 28, through Sunday, October 30, at the Little Theatre.

McDaniel promised, “Expect to see talent in action. All the pieces are outstanding.”
