Musgrave Medals awarded
The board of governors of the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) announced the award of two Silver Musgrave Medals and one Bronze Musgrave Medal.
Silver Musgrave Medals have been awarded to Ranny Williams for his great achievements over many years in promoting and performing entertainment in the dialect folklore of the country, and for maintaining a high standard of radio and television production, especially in connection with his farm programme on JBC-TV.
The Bronze Musgrave Medal has been awarded to Enid Chevannes for her sincere and effective performance in radio drama.
Silver Musgrave Medals are awarded for outstanding merit in the promotion of literature, science or art, and Bronze Musgrave Medals are awarded for individual performance. The Musgrave Medals commemorate Sir Anthony Musgrave, governor of Jamaica from 1877 to 1883, and the founder of the IOJ, in 1879.
