Flow Your Bow With Flow-Tie
We can't help but be attracted to men in bow ties, sleek suspenders and a suit that fits to a T. From blazing the runways to a day in the office, Flow-Tie Jamaica is giving an exclusive sophistication to trendy menswear.
For this men's edition of Flair Magazine, we take a look at men's fashion through the eyes of the hardworking local designer, Damion 'Taquane' Tomlinson.
"I'm not in fashion for only the money. I'm looking to grow and expand my creative ideas so that I can produce the best and a variety of designs," he told Flair.
To our surprise, Tomlinson had no experience or knowledge of the fashion world but was quick to teach himself the trade. With his studies in food and nutrition at the Papine High School, Tomlinson tested his skills in the kitchen - giving him the opportunity to realise where his true passion lay.
While he never envisioned himself in fashion, Tomlinson had the knack for mixing colours and pouring his creative 'juice' in the kitchen. This made him a boss in and outside of the kitchen. Though he admits that being an entrepreneur is tough, Tomlinson is committed to bringing his A-game with his designs.
"Bow ties are my favourite work of art but I don't want to stop at bow ties. I want to design bow belts, custom-made vests and include the ladies by making some hairbands," Tomlinson shared.
In his year of experience, Tomlinson advises upcoming designers to 'not break it but make it', as though competition is good he believes growing with the competition is better for the industry.
With a wide variety of designs to make different fashion statements, Flow-Tie Jamaica expresses happy, trendy, classic and casual through bow ties, suspenders, pocket squares and lapel pins.
Here are a few trending designs that will pop your outfit and give your suit a major facelift.
