A new chapter in Jamaica’s aesthetic and wellness landscape has unfolded with the relaunch of Future Medicine and Aesthetics, a medical spa founded by Dr Marcus Lee and Dr Mariesha Terrelonge Lee.

Previously known as Future Aesthetics, the practice built its reputation on refined, non-surgical cosmetic treatments. Today, it is expanding its vision to combine advanced aesthetic medicine with functional health, an integrated approach that prioritises both internal wellness and external beauty.

The rebrand reflects a growing global shift in healthcare, the understanding that outward appearance is often a mirror of what is happening inside the body.

“We are introducing the functional medicine component. Previously, we focused primarily on aesthetic concerns. However, most medical issues are a reflection of what is going on internally. We have now married both internal and external care for optimal health,” explained Dr Marcus Lee.

Future Medicine and Aesthetics continues to offer a wide range of non-surgical treatments, including dermal fillers, botox, and facial balancing. These procedures focus on enhancing natural beauty, while maintaining harmony and subtlety.

Co-founder Dr Mariesha Terrelonge Lee, who brings more than nine years of medical experience, emphasises that modern aesthetics is about intention and balance rather than dramatic transformation. The practice’s philosophy centres on refined, personalised treatment plans that support confidence and well-being.

The relaunch introduces a deeper focus on functional medicine, a patient-centred approach that seeks to identify and address the root causes of disease rather than simply treating symptoms.

One of the standout services now offered is food sensitivity testing, which highlights the link between diet and chronic health concerns, such as inflammation, digestive issues, fatigue, skin conditions, and hormonal imbalances.

During a demonstration during the relaunch event, a patient underwent an observed food sensitivity test using a simple finger-prick blood sample. Within 30 minutes, results revealed sensitivities to wheat, milk, peanuts, cashews, and gluten, with milder reactions to durum wheat, yeast, and ginger. The patient was already aware of some sensitivities, underscoring the value of confirmation and expanded insight.

The test screens reactions to 59 different foods, offering patients actionable information to guide dietary and lifestyle changes.

“The solution is to remove the factors that contribute to disease and allow the body to heal itself. When we remove the harmful triggers and enhance the beneficial factors, we can reduce the likelihood of disease,” Dr Lee said.

EXPANDED SUITE OF SERVICES

Food sensitivities are increasingly recognised as a contributor to chronic health issues. Across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and gastrointestinal disorders, remain major public health concerns. Many of these conditions are closely linked to diet, inflammation, and lifestyle.

Food sensitivity testing provides patients with personalised insights into how their bodies respond to common foods. By identifying triggers early, individuals can make informed dietary changes that support digestive health, immune function, hormone balance, and energy levels.

For many patients, understanding these sensitivities becomes a turning point in their wellness journey, helping them move from reactive treatment to proactive prevention.

Future Medicine and Aesthetics now also offers an expanded suite of services designed to support whole-body health, including peptide therapy, hormone-replacement therapy, allergy testing, nutritional supplementation, and sexual wellness services

By integrating these services with aesthetic treatments, the clinic aims to provide a comprehensive model of care that addresses both health and confidence.

The evolution from Future Aesthetics to Future Medicine and Aesthetics reflects a broader shift in healthcare and wellness. Patients are increasingly seeking holistic, preventative care that supports long-term vitality, not just cosmetic enhancement.

By combining internal health with external aesthetics, the practice is positioning itself at the forefront of a new era, one where beauty is not only seen, but felt. In this model, everything is intentional – every treatment, every test, and every step towards helping patients look and feel their best from the inside out.
