The New Generals
Six persons yesterday joined the rank of 'General of the House of Representatives' after their constituents adorned them with a fifth star, setting them apart from other parliamentarians.
Phillip Paulwell, Kingston Eastern and Port Royal
Paulwell has now joined the rank of general. He has won elections in 1997, 2002, 2007, 2011 and 2016.
Delroy Chuck, St Andrew North Eastern
He has won elections in 1997, 2002, 2007, 2011, and 2016.
Andrew Holness, St Andrew West Central
He became member of parliament for St Andrew West Central in 1997 at the age of 25. Has won elections in 1997, 2002, 2007, 2011 and 2016.
Shahine Robinson, St Ann North Eastern
When Robinson won the by-election in 2001, she turned a virtually strong PNP seat into Labour territory.
She has won elections in 2001, 2002, 2007, 2011, and 2016.
J.C. Hutchinson, St Elizabeth North Western
Since arriving in St Elizabeth North Western in 1997 after a stint in neighbouring St Elizabeth North Eastern, Hutchinson is yet to lose.
He has won elections in 1997, 2002, 2007, 2011, and 2016.
Dr Wykeham McNeill, Westmoreland Western
He has been MP since 1997.
He has won elections in 1997, 2002, 2007, 2011 and 2016.
