Flash flood warning issued for eastern parishes

The Meteorological Service has issued a flash flood warning for low-lying and flood prone areas of eastern parishes until 5 o'clock Saturday morning.
A flash flood warning means that flash flooding has been reported or will occur shortly.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised not attempt to cross flooded roadways or other low-lying areas; be on the alert for rising waters and be ready to move to higher ground.
The Met Service says the weather is being influenced by a trough across Jamaica and the central Caribbean.
The trough is expected to continue to influence weather conditions until Sunday.
