Health Ministry probing mysterious deaths at St Thomas infirmary

Chief Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health Dr Winston De La Haye, says a probe has begun into the mysterious deaths of two residents of the St Thomas Infirmary in Morant Bay.

The two residents died within a 24-hour period and a third person has since been hospitalised amid speculation that the situation may have been the result of a bacterial infection.

De La Haye says efforts are now concentrated on preventing a spread of any bacteria at the infirmary.

The two residents of the infirmary reportedly died last week.
