Warren ... On Monday, rejected the report as "false".

Carolyn Warren, the resigned managing director of the government-owned National Energy Solutions Limited (NESol), has now admitted that she has six criminal convictions.

On Monday, she had rejected the report as "false" saying she was prepared to pursue legal action against the people who were making the claim.

But Warren has now come clean.

She confirmed Friday that five of the convictions were for drug offences arising from three incidents dating back to 1995.

Her first conviction of simple larceny was recorded in 1993.

Warren also told The Gleaner that she now understands the concerns about her failure to disclose the convictions when she applied for the job as NESol boss.

However, she insisted that she was not aware that she was required to inform her new employers.

"It is the first time I am working with the government. When I went and did my interview, nobody asked me that. If that was on the paper, I would have said 'yes'," she said.

Warren had first acknowledged that she had one criminal conviction dating back more than two decades ago after Opposition Spokesman on energy Phillip Paulwell made it public and called for her resignation.

On Wednesday, Warren tendered her resignation as managing director of NESol.
