At least three US carriers operating between the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James have been cancelled because of Hurricane Dorian.

Several flights out of The Bahamas' Lynden Pindling International Airport have also been cancelled.

Hurricane Dorian, a category four storm, is now battering parts of The Bahamas as it heads slowly towards the eastern coast of southern Florida including West Palm Beach, Port St Lucie, and Orlando.

Spirit, Southwest and JetBlue airlines have cancelled a total of five flights into Montego Bay, while InterCaribbean, which is based in Turks and Caicos has cancelled one flight between Montego Bay and Kingston.

In a release, MBJ Airports Limited asked customers to make direct contact with their airlines to rebook or get further information.
