Jamaica records eighth COVID death as 26 new cases put tally at 422

Jamaica has recorded its eighth coronavirus death.

The deceased patient is a 63-year-old female from St Catherine who was a contact of a confirmed case.

In the meantime, 26 new COVID cases have been recorded in Jamaica pushing the tally to 422.

According to the Health Ministry, of the 26 new cases, there are 9 males and 17 females, aged eight months to 63 years.

Three Alorica call centre employees are among the new cases.

Nine are contacts of employees, six are contacts of other confirmed cases and eight cases are under investigation.
