Praises for the security forces
THE EDITOR, Madam:
The security forces must be praised for being the number-one heroes in all battles. Literally, they tackle every single level of crime from domestic abuse to’ white-collar’ fraud. They are the front-line workers guarding our ports, hospitals and busy highways.
These brave men and women comb the entire island, keeping citizens in the correct social distances. They protect the elderly, children and those without homes. Some even have time to give personal donations of cash and kind.
The armed forces have to carefully calculate when to ‘round up’ criminals at various levels. The operations have to be stealthily and swiftly conducted. The advertising sounds of different high-powered artillery have to be fearlessly recorded and strategic detonation activities implemented. No one for a moment should think the security forces are sleeping. They may appear slow but they are very sure.
In the face of neighbourhoods deeply embedded in various criminal activities, one cannot rob from Peter to pay Paul and present oneself as a law-abiding citizen deserving the care of the security forces. No one should think that they will escape the law because it is only ‘petty theft’. It is the ‘small foxes’ that spoil the vine. Planting weeds in your neighbour’s garden is perhaps more vicious than outright, brazen praedial larceny.
The women, wives and side chicks are allegedly equally greedy in the triangular trade of crime, willing to gorge even a supposed childhood friend to fatten their pot. They stand by their spouses and are complacent and silent to the crimes. Far too many women are willing accomplices in stealing the crown jewels of their female employer. They boast and partner in an illicit manner with other persons’ spouses. These women work to undermine the authority of other women in the corporate structure, sabotaging equipment and personal effects. They do not care about the suffering caused, potential loss of income and eventual termination of employment to any individual.
Those unhappy with the performance of the security forces must immediately volunteer their ‘skills’ and their sons and daughters.
UL JEM
