Teachers are tired of hide-and-seek with salaries
THE EDITOR, Madam:
Why is the Government playing hide-and-seek with teachers’ salaries? The teachers are already working in challenging conditions; they have to work with limited teaching resources, not enough textbooks, overpopulated classrooms, and now don’t have a clue about their monthly salaries. This has made them very demotivated, tired and frustrated.
The cat-and-mouse game is on and the question is, who is the cat? And who is the mouse? The teachers are tired of being outside the circle trying to get answers. They are confused and are unable to trap the mouse which continues to be deceptive and has not been captured. The game will not be over until the mouse comes to realise that the teachers will not give up. They are determined to get answers.
Teachers are hoping that the hide-and-seek with the salaries will be over soon.
