Great presentation, Senator Fitz-Henley!

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I wish to commend Senator Abka Fitz-Henley on a most thoughtful and hard-hitting opening of the State of the Nation Debate in the Senate.

Fitz-Henley was courageous in outlining tangible actions taken in the interest of the advancement of the Jamaican people and calling out the former PNP administration for missteps which have set Jamaica back badly.

It’s clear this young man is aware of his political history, and the actions required to move Jamaica forward.

Senator Fitz-Henley was right when he said never again should Jamaica pursue policies similar to those which occurred under the former PNP administration that caused a raft of businesses to collapse and thousands of people to lose their savings.

I do not expect everybody to be happy at Senator Fitz-Henley’s presentation, but that’s because, as he rightfully quipped in the Senate, the truth hurts. Fitz-Henley’s maiden presentation in the Parliament was a great one which offered much food for thought.
