State offers $6m to man locked up for 50 years without trial

Everybody mentioning tangibles like money and house it seems. There is little concern about how zoned out he appears as if he has been through some mental toll? And if that’s the case, he needs more than just a cheque. – @zoieskye7

Where were his family during this time, did they visit him while he was incarcerated? Both government and family failed this man. – @SanciaJones

Government know that cannot buy a house? KMT. – @DeeeVexx

George needs a good lawyer. – @VergileV

People are cursing the government and the court for the offer of $6m, he can refuse it or wait another 10 years litigating to resolve it. Government has the resources to defend, this poor man does not. Also the court in making an award looks on various factors for settlement. – @ermarlii16

That cannot even purchase a home in Jamaica. What about his medical bills? - @PeterBanhan

Give the man a house, the six million as gratuity, plus a monthly income. - @BettyJa77533964

Get a good lawyer. Demand no less that 50 million, one for each lost year. Even though he deserves way more. – @arophat

They need to give him a good house for a start, then work out a decent monthly living income so he can live comfortably. Next, recalculate that ridiculous payment and give the man a payment that makes sense - they can’t pay for his wasted years. – @FinanciallyWize

A must U$6 million they meant to say! – @denroxmunchkham

That’s just awful. Just $6 million for 50 years in prison without a trial. At least $20 million should be offered. – @Drepablo

What can that do? That can’t start compensating for everything that man lost. – @ShadowMonnarch

His situation is sad. And $6m is a slap in the face. It’s like rubbing broken glass on an open wound. – @Jaimeedits1

Only hope he reject it and get a good lawyer. Imagine 50 years of your life gone down the gutter, no chance of getting a youth, a family of his own, no grandchildren, nothing. He doesn’t enjoy any of his life. Them must pay up. – @realmedz35

What was he charged with? $6m cannot even begin to be enough for 50 years without trial especially for a charge he probably wouldn’t have even been sentenced to 50 years for had he been found guilty. I don’t even have the words to describe this level of judicial negligence. – @RheaLayneLLB
