Bandage is not a fashion accessory

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I have never really understood the world of fashion, the accessories and what they symbolise; and I am now dumbfounded by the latest item of wear, a large square bandage worn on the right ear by Republican Party supporters in solidarity with Donald Trump.

Wearing the bandage for medical purposes is fine, although I think Trump is wearing it more for show, given its size. Those wearing it out of ‘respect’ for him, I believe, have no idea what the word means.

Let’s hope there are no more reasons to wear bandages out of need or silliness.
