Trump orders are justified

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I have never seen more bare-facedness than from persons who oppose US President Donald Trump’s policies. The USA has the right to do as they please with their money; that includes donating it, spending it or not. One-fifth of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) budget is paid by the US, and if Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wants the US to reconsider its return, then other countries have to pay their fair share.

Also, its inability to demonstrate independence from inappropriate political influence of WHO member states, i.e. China, is exactly why the US should stop funding them.

Countries around the world should take charge of their own health, security and economic future, emphasising the need for self-reliance instead of depending on foreign aid. USAID has to stop.

What is being done with all the aid, both monetary and assets, that we have received from the US? All the disasters that we have had, where are the Red Cross and the defence force?

More drilling for oil and gas is good for the world economy, with more business for the downstreamers. PPGPL’s plant in Texas will do very well. If you want to see people’s true colours, do not give them what they want–their response alone is exactly why Trump’s orders are justified.
