Easter: Message of reflection and hope to the people

Easter is a time of deep reflection, reminding us of the ultimate sacrifice, a testament to love and unwavering commitment.
As we walk through this sacred season, we remember the story etched in the scriptures: the arrest and conviction, the suffering, the crucifixion, the death, and ultimately, the Resurrection.
It is a story that speaks not just to faith, but to the depths of human experience of loss, of sorrow, and of enduring hope.
The late Reverend Easton Lee, beautifully captured this journey in his renowned play, The Rope and The Cross. These two powerful symbols, the rope and the cross, hold profound meaning. The rope represents the burden of earthly desires, the weight of guilt, and the sacrifices made along life’s path. The cross, in contrast, stands as the eternal emblem of God’s boundless love and redemption, offering salvation from sin and darkness.
For those who have suffered loss, for those who feel the sting of grief, Easter reminds us that, beyond sorrow, there is light. Though the sun may seem lost, faith assures us that hope is never beyond reach.
In the play, the dialogue between the mother of Jesus and the mother of Judas, who had both lost their sons, pulling at our emotions as they set out to find their bodies and weep with grief as a resounding harmonious cry.
Let us, as a people, embrace this season with renewed hearts. May we find comfort in the promise of the Resurrection, strength in faith, and love in the embrace of community. May this Easter inspire us to lift each other up, to walk in kindness, and to hold fast to the enduring grace of our Creator.
