A St Elizabeth teenager and his 21-year-old co-accused were denied bail when they appeared in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Eighteen-year-old Roshane Smith and 21-year-old Martin Bowers appeared in court yesterday.
They are set to return on April 13.
It is alleged that Smith was walking along Munro Road and was reportedly acting in a suspicious manner.
The police accosted and searched him, resulting in the seizure of a nine-millimetre cartridge.
The police then escorted Smith to his home.
A room he shared with Bowers was searched, during which a homemade firearm containing a nine-millimetre cartridge was discovered.
The two were later arrested and charged.
