Police seize three guns
The police seized three guns over the past 24 hours in Hanover, the western parish now the site of a strong police presence.
No one has been arrested.
The Corporate Communications Unit of the police force says two guns were seized at a premises in Cascade, where a team of officers was carrying out special operations.
During the search of the premises, the police reportedly found a Parabellum pistol and one Browning nine millimeter pistol along with 58 rounds of ammunition.
Another team of officers seized a homemade firearm in Cold Spring, Sandy Bay, also in Hanover.
The police say the team was conducting special operations in the area when they came across a group of men that reportedly aroused their suspicion.
It is reported that when the police team approached, the men ran leaving behind a knapsack bag which contained the homemade handgun.
A strong police team has been in Hanover since the murder two weeks ago of six members of one family and the injuring of four others.
