Meeting to examine Supplementary Estimates for 2015/16 suspended
This morning's planned meeting of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC) to examine the Supplementary Estimates for 2015/16 was suspended.
The meeting has been rescheduled for 2 o’clock on Thursday afternoon.
Five members of Parliament turned up this morning, but the meeting was adjourned within minutes after the MPs were informed that representatives from the Ministry of Finance would not be attending.
Committee member Fitz Jackson explained that this was because of some scheduling missteps.
The Supplementary Estimates of Expenditure was tabled in the House of Representatives yesterday.
It shows an increase in programmed spending from the $641.6 billion approved in March 2015 to $808.4 billion.
The revised Estimates sets out the increased expenses of $166.8 billion.
