Prisoner dies at Tower Street facility

The National Security ministry says the inmate was imprisoned in January 2015 and was serving an eight-year sentence for robbery with aggravation and a five-year term for illegal possession of a firearm.

The Ministry of National Security is reporting that an inmate died today at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Kingston.

The dead man has been identified as 47-year-old Hector Lamb.

The Security Ministry says Lamb died of natural causes at the hospital at the Tower Street facility.

The ministry says Lamb was imprisoned in January 2015 and was serving an eight-year sentence for robbery with aggravation and a five-year term for illegal possession of a firearm.
