Met Service forecasts weekend showers

The Meteorological Service of Jamaica is projecting increased rainfall for the island today into Sunday.

It says a strong Tropical Wave with an associated broad area of low pressure is currently located across the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The Met Service says while the system now has a 40 per cent chance of becoming a Tropical Cyclone it is expected to continue moving westward and across the south-eastern Bahamas.

The wave is expected to further deepen the trough over Jamaica during the next 24 hours, with projections for showers and thunderstorms to affect sections of most parishes.
