A 24-year-old man was shot and killed a short while ago less than 50 metres from the Gold Street Police Station in the Southside community, in downtown Kingston.
Relatives have identified him as Mackio Panton of a Tower Street address, also in downtown Kingston.
One relative, who spoke to The Gleaner, report that Panton was having a drink with friends along Barry Street when an argument developed.
It's reported that a man left and returned with a gun and used it to shoot Panton.
Police investigators say the incident mirrored another killing that occurred in the tough inner-city community two years ago.
In that incident it's reported that a man was shot and killed after making a rough tackle on another man during a game of football.
